DID GOD CREATE THE WORLD?
God spoke everything into existence by the power of His Word

“Faith convinces us that God created the world through his word. This means what can be seen was made by something that can not be seen.”
(Hebrews 11:3)
In the beginning, God used atoms to create everything that exists. These atoms are tiny particles of matter that have a center, or nucleus, with tiny electrons, spinning around them. God used these atoms to create matter and all physical things. Atoms therefore are the building blocks of everything. Atoms cannot be seen with our eyes. There is space between the nucleus and the electrons, as well as space between other atoms. Science tells us this is very similar to the planets spinning around the sun. We are told if all the space between the atoms was taken out and the earth was reduced to solid matter, the earth would be about the size of a basketball. What holds all this together? The answer is found in the bible.
“He created all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible. Whether they are kings or lords, rulers or powers- everything has been created through him and for him. He existed before everything and holds everything together.” (Colossians 1:16-17)
Jesus Christ is the Word of God and all things are held together through him!
God created the stars, the planets, the plant life, and all the animals. To create means, to bring into existence, to make something out of nothing.
God spoke the word and the physical matter in the universe came into existence. When God spoke, spiritual beings became alive and functioned instantly.
God did something very special when man was brought into existence. God took clay, the dust of the earth, and formed man. God was involved through the whole process of time it took to form and raise man from the dust of the earth. Then he formed woman from one of the man’s ribs. He called the man, Adam and the man called the woman, Eve.
Human beings are not just another animal. They are God’s special creation formed by God’s own hands to live forever with him as his family. God made man out of existing material. Then, God breathed his life into him, so that man became a physical creature with a body and brain, as well as a spiritual being with an eternal spirit. Man was made a living soul. Genesis 2:7 tells us,
“Then the Lord formed the man from the dust of the earth and blew the breath of life into his nostrils. The man became a living being.”
The bible gives us a clear picture of the origin of all things. God was there in the beginning and he told us in his word enough to accept by faith how all things came into being.
The theorist, Charles Darwin wrote his thesis, “The Origin of the Species.”
In his book, which has had a major impact on the world, he proposed all forms of life developed gradually from a common ancestry over millions of years. He suggested the idea which is called the “survival of the fittest.” This idea developed as a basic for the reasoning behind the theory of evolution. The world system has accepted Darwin’s theory as a fact. This theory is used to teach our children about the beginning of all that exists. Christianity is under constant pressure to give in to this humanistic theory. We need to teach the bible as fact and not give reason to the theorists.
There are at least five major statements proposed by the humanistic philosophy:
1. Evolutionists teach that heredity and environment are the determining factors of existence.
2. Evolutionists teach that character traits and actions are explained by heredity and environment. It is said that since behavior is determined by factors beyond the individual’s control, he cannot be blamed for his behavior. A born-again Christian understands that man is not controlled by his environment. Man is responsible for his behavior and for his sins.
“Sin came into the world through one person, and death came through sin. So death spread to everyone, because everyone sinned.”
(Romans 5:12)
3. The teaching of the “survival of the fittest” casts doubt upon the existence of God. Darwin stated that, if there was a God, He was merely a totally indifferent and impersonal force.
4. Darwin’s theory proclaims that things are continuing to get better and better. The humanists teach that one day all men will be as God. This idea is not new. Satan tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden with the same plan.
Man’s condition is revealed to us in Isaiah 64:6.
“We have all become unclean, and all our righteous acts are like permanently stained rags. All of us shrivel life leaves, and our sins carry us away like the wind.”
5. Finally, Darwin’s theory teaches that man is subject to the same laws and conditions as all other matter in nature. Christians understand that man has been given dominion over all creation. Man was created in the likeness and image of God. Genesis 1:26-27 tell us,
“Then God said, Let us make humans in our image, in, our likeness. Let them rule the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the domestic animals al over the earth, and all the animals that crawl on the earth.” “So God created humans in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female.”
Evolutionism is a theory and cannot be proven as fact. It cannot change the word of God. “In the beginning God” and God created all things including mankind. Only one God exists, and man cannot evolve into gods. The Creator always remains greater than the creation, therefore man is accountable to God for his life and his actions. |
