Dear Pastor Toby and Connie Tyler,

I write to convey through sincere thanks to you, Toby and Connie for the generous work you have done towards the noble cause of helping the orphans, more so in this alarming situation when again we were invaded by the floods on wednesday 20th feb 08 where by God was just merciful so that no child was drowned as you see in the photos attatched to this email.

At least the assistance you have given to us is going to help us because all the scholarstic materials were destroyed by water and most children are in a bad health state because of the water as some use it as an advantage to empety their latrines so that water you see those children in is full of that dirty staff . the situation is not all that good. as you in the photo some smaller children were helped by teachers and other older children to rescue the them.

May God bless you,

Gertrude

The project in Kampala, Uganda is:  WOMAN IN NEED CHILD WELFARE- KAISHALOM CHILD PROJECT   this is the picture of the children in the wooden school and floods.

and the name of the Pastor and church on the grounds is:  Pastor Edmikes Tagoya  Spring of Healing Church.

Dear Pst. Toby and Connie Tyler,

Heavenly greetings from our entire family and the school at large. Praise be to the Lord for the encouraging and promising messages from you people of God.

Pastor Edmikes Tagoya  Spring of Healing Church.

We had started it fully and we were fellowshiping fully but we were interrupted by the floods' so we only fellowship when the floods are out, but we still continue with it. The major problem is the church buildings as we are using the wooden structures of the school. We also lack the seats as we share them with the school and machines to make the praising, worshiping and the preaching reach poeple at a distance.

The name of the school is WOMAN IN NEED CHILD WELFARE- KAISHALOM CHILD PROJECT. It is still in the place you visited when you came. The number of children became slightly lower to 250 pupils, the 50 pupils left schooling back to streets scrap picking due to the conditions like floods which are a threat and poor feeding as I and my husband are the ones who have been trying to work and get some money to support them and to pay the teachers' salaries were un fortunately , my husband is nolonger employed. And to purchase the schoolarstic materials like exercise books, text books, stationery, typing and printing the examinations, First Aid, etc but it has been not surficient to do all that which has been resulting to some not done.We dont have the computer and a printer to easen the work of secreterial services for both the school and the church.

When we buy land, it becomes the property of the school no one can take it or claim it because we do it using the lawyers.

The house needs include;

1.House rent which is $61.per month as per recent rent fee.For us we have a problem with landlords because of the big number of children we have, having a fear of toilets getting filled very soon.Where we had got a house, the owner has told us to complete the two months remaining and we look for else where.

2.Feedinging; It is becoming expensive daily,100kgs of posho is at $48. We use it for only two weeks and 100kgs of beans $121,this takes us for one month when we use it sparelingly, that is when they eat one meal in some days. the problem with Uganda these days there is famine and food prices have gone stremendously up.

3. School fees for some secondary students of eight completely helpless orphans, these ones dont have any relatives they are totally in our hands plus our two own children. They didnt attend school last term or the first curriculum of year due to lack of school dues as my husband was discontinued from job. And even this term or next curriculum we just wait for God's providence so that we can take them to school. The unfortunate part of it our first borne boy was going to sit for his final examinations for higher education certificate, but we failed to secure funds for him.
4. Medication. In Uganda,we have a problem of medication because drugs are very expensive so when some of these children fall sick we find it difficult to treat them.

Greetings from my dear husband, children and teachers,

LOVE , PEACE, BLESSINGS AND ETERNITY.

Sr. Gertrude
